Bug: "Hide completed tasks on Google Calendar" not working

when i add tasks and edit their times, those are successfully reflected on my google calendar. when i mark a task as complete, however, it continues to show up on my google calendar, even though i made sure to toggle on the "Hide completed tasks on Google Calendar" setting.

impact of bug: since i have many tasks each day that are assigned to a day, but not to a specific time, that means my "all day events" section of my google calendar remains extremely long and unwieldy, even though i've marked the tasks as complete.
